Taking Life Outside

A Farewell To Summer 2018

The summer of 2018 is coming to a close, despite our longings for it to continue. School shall soon start again, and before you know it, autumn leaves will begin to fall. Everyone’s favorite time of the year in the south (football season) will be here before you know it. Time is relentless and continues to press on whether we like it or not. Take some time right now to reflect on the memories made and laughs shared during the summer of 2018. Maybe you took a family vacation, or a trip to a new place with some of your closest friends. Maybe you spent countless days in the sun relaxing by the water. Maybe you went on an adventure in the mountains that you will never forget. Maybe you simply just enjoyed being with the people around you. Cherish each of those moments – their memories will last a lifetime. Here are just a few of our favorite memories from the summer of 2018.

Wired 2018. What a phenomenal week! Our staff is heavily involved in this event each and every year. Students and adults from all over the wiregrass area come together to worship, fellowship, and serve. It is always exciting to watch thousands of people come together to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Perhaps the most exciting part of the week, though, was to see the many lives transformed by the gospel. Whew, talk about chills. Wired 2018 may be over, but we are so thankful for all that the Lord did this year.

New Baby Eaglets and A Wedding. Another exciting part of this summer was the addition of several new baby eaglets and a sweet wedding ceremony. We love celebrating our staff and their families. Several months back, Josh and Whitney welcomed Joshua Griffin (Finn) Lashley into their family. Josh has been working at Eagle Eye for about a year and a half now. Just a few weeks after Finn’s arrival, Thomas Coleman Benton decided to make his appearance! Thomas belongs to David and Casey. David has been working with us for many years. We had a third baby eaglet join us this month! Abby and Reid welcomed Jameson Rhett Merritt into their family just a few weeks ago. Abby  has worked at Eagle Eye for four years. We are so excited for these sweet families! Just last weekend we celebrated the marriage of Savannah and Braxton. Savannah has worked at the store for about 2 years. We wish these two the absolute best in the years to come.

Seeing All Of Your Adventures. From the looks of it, a lot of you had quite a fun summer. Thank you for taking EEO gear with you on all of your adventures! Also, thank you for showing us how you’ve been taking life outside over the past few months. We love seeing your pictures, so keep tagging us. Don’t forget about our #sharetowin giveaway that is going on each month. Post a picture where you’re sporting your favorite EEO gear for the chance to win a $25 gift card. Tag us and hashtag #takinglifeoutside and #shopeeo to be entered.

While the summer may be coming to an end, here are a few last-minute ideas on how to spend these last few weeks:

  • Take a beach trip. Whether it be a day trip, or a weekend trip, take some time to soak up the sun and eat some seafood! We have plenty of close beach options around us. Panama City Beach, Destin, Seaside, and Orange Beach (just to name a few) are all within a short distance from Dothan. All of these cities offer lots of fun activities!
  • Explore a new city. A perfect weekend getaway could be found in a city like Birmingham, or Atlanta. Both of these cities are only about 4 hours away and offer a lot to do. Find a concert to go to, or a museum to explore. Don’t forget to splurge on a really nice meal while you’re there too!
  • Go to a baseball game. Two teams that play not too far from Dothan are the Montgomery Biscuits and the Pensacola Blue Wahoos. The atmosphere in the stadium for these games is family friendly and lots of fun!
  • Get outside. There are plenty of walking trails and hiking trails in Alabama. De Soto State Park, Little River Canyon Falls Park, and Oak Mountain State Park are just a few that come to mind. Several of these parks even offer options for camping and lodging. There is nothing more relaxing than spending time in the great outdoors while enjoying God’s beautiful creation.

Summer 2018, we are sad to see you go, yet we are excited for what the next several months hold. Remember us as you are preparing for the 2018 – 2019 school year. We offer lots of school uniform options for boys and girls. We also carry many backpacks and supplies that would be great to take with you to school. Plus, our “Back To School” sale is in full swing. Come in or shop online to enjoy 25% – 50% off on select styles from some of your favorite brands. Here are just a few ideas regarding school uniforms and school supplies:

Girl’s Uniforms

We are loving this uniform option by Columbia for little girls. This teal colored, collared button-up is too cute tucked into this black skort.

Boy’s Uniforms

Boys have a lot more options in terms of uniforms. This outfit shown is by Southern Tide. The polo and shorts are perfect for back to school! We also have options in Columbia and Under Armour.

Men’s Uniforms

We also have plenty of uniform options for men. These polos shown below are by Southern Tide. Southern Tide, Southern Marsh, and Columbia all make solid color polos that would work for school uniforms. Don’t forget to pair these with a pair of khaki/navy shorts or pants.

School Supplies

Here are a few cute, must-have accessories to take with you when you head back to school. The first picture shows some backpacks that we have on sale right now. Any of them would be great for school. The next picture shows a cute lunch box by Jadelynn Brooke. The last picture is a notebook by Jadelynn Brooke that would be perfect for taking notes. Lilly Pulitzer has several options as well.
