Cheers For 19 Years

19 years of business and 19 years of memories. Wow, time sure does go by quickly. In honor of our 19th anniversary, let’s take a trip down memory lane and look at the history of how Eagle Eye came to be.

Mark & Susan Anderson opened Eagle Eye in 1999 in the Hillcrest Shopping Center. The store started out being only 2400 square feet – wow. The company grew in the early 2000’s as they expanded their product offering to include exclusive outdoor brands like Columbia, Patagonia and The North Face. The store was then expanded to 6000 square foot. In 2007, they opened our warehouse which allowed them to expand their retail space and product lines. In the summer of 2009, EEO moved to the old Alabama Power Building and grew with the added retail space however, they began to quickly outgrow that space as well! In 2013, they began the process of buying and renovating our “forever home” — Davis Theatre’s old Northside Cinema 1 building. June 18, 2014 was Eagle Eye’s first day of business in the new, unique 38,000 square foot facility! Currently, we have approximately 25,000 square feet of retail space with the remaining square footage as warehouse and corporate office space. The new building has allowed EEO to, again, expand our product offering and help serve even more people. In November of 2016, Eagle Eye launched their online store, SHOPEAGLEEYE.COM. The addition of the website has been very beneficial. Customers can have items shipped to them, or they can use our free in-store pickup option. This allows for ease and convenience. Our website showcases only a selection of what is available in-store, but over time, we hope to be able to offer everything online for an easier, more convenient shopping experience.

One of our core values, and driving factors behind who we are as a company is this: people matter most. We put a huge emphasis on this through investing in our customers, our staff, and our community. That is what we like to call our “Circle of Service”. We desire to cultivate genuine relationships with each customer, far beyond just transactions. We desire to invest in all of our staff members, as well as their families. We desire to serve in the community and do our best to meet the needs of everyone we encounter. We truly believe that each and every person is valuable, and important. Mark and Susan laid the foundation for EEO with this principle in 1999, and nineteen years later, this is still a driving factor behind the way our company operates.

We certainly could not have done any of this without God. His faithfulness and countless blessings have far exceeded anything that we could have ever imagined. He gets all the praise, honor, and glory for everything that our company has achieved and endured. We also would not be where we are today without our wonderful customers. Thank you to all of our fantastic customers that have supported us through and through. We love and appreciate each of you so much! Cheers for 19 amazing years!
