As a Grasstoots Outdoor Alliance (GOA) member, Patagonia gives us the opportunity to use 1% of our wholesale purchases each year (up to $5000) to award environmental grants to the organization of our choice. If you look on their merchandise tags, you can read about their 1% for the Planet initiative. Because of this iniative, Eagle Eye is donating their portion to the Forever Wild Trail.
This year, Eagle Eye is awarding our $5000 to the Forever Wild Trail building project that the city of Dothan is currently working on between Flowers Chapel Rd & Fortner Street at the old waste water treatment plant. We have written and received several grants for this project over the last couple years from Patagonia & Columbia. Including this year, we now have secured funding for this project in excess of $20,000.
Below is the trail map. The one mile family loop was completed and opened last fall. The other trails should be open by the end of this year.
