2020 has been a year like no other! We are so thankful for your continued support of our small business throughout the last 20+ years. Despite the challenges that 2020 brought us, we have done so much as a company and have had many celebrations. From our family here at Eagle Eye Outfitters to yours, we wish you the happiest of New Years. We hope you enjoy our 2020 Year in Review!
Looking back on this year, we were able to accomplish some pretty incredible projects & goals such as:
- Updating all of our computer infrastructure
- Upgrading our POS
- Launching a brand new website platform
- Introducing alternative shopping methods including: curbside pick-ups, personalized shopping, and segmented marketing campaigns
- Navigating the 5-week store closure in the Spring
We have 2 employees that celebrated their 10 year anniversary this year!
Jeanne started with us December 6, 2010 as our Office Manager. Many of you may not know this, but at our old location, Jeanne, Mark, and the 3 store managers all shared one tiny office that was smaller than her current office – Fun times! Jeanne has been a huge part of our organization and a servant willing to do whatever needs to be done to make the company better. She has played a major part in lining out our accounting structure & cash management procedures as we have grown in size over the last 10 years.
Derek started with us August 16, 2010 as a Part Time Sales associate while a student at BCF. In 2013, Derek became a Department Manager. He was promoted to Assistant Store Manager in 2015. In 2016, he became the Warehouse Manager and then worked to build our E-Commerce site that launched for the holidays in 2016. Since then, Derek has been an instrumental part of advancing EEO into the digital world and growing our E-Commerce business to what we have today.
We also have 3 employees that celebrated 5 year anniversaries!
Zac started with us on August 12, 2015 as a Part Time Sales Associate. After that, he moved to the Operations team in a full time position in 2017, and was promoted to Backstock Manager earlier this year. Zac has played a significant role in the organization of our backstock system.
Cindy started with us on January 28, 2015 after moving home to Dothan from the Birmingham area. She had previous retail experience working as a buyer & merchandise planner with Simply Fashions & Saks Inc in Birmingham. Cindy now serves as our inventory analyst on the buying team managing our budget for brand purchases.
Princess Amberella started with us on September 28, 2015 workin with the Operations Team as an Inventory Clerk. In her role, Amber manages all of the warehouse receiving discrepancies (errors in shipments) and damages/defects. She works back with our brands for a credit to our account for damaged products and authorizations for return on any errors in shipping. In addition to that role, she also provides administrative support to the Operations Team.
All of the Celebrations
Showers are a frequent occurrence here at Eagle Eye considering the stage of life that most of our employees are in. We love celebrating pivotal life events for each of our staff members. This year, we celebrated several of our employees as they got married! Megan and Justin Kirkland married in August. Justin was our Assistant Men’s Department Manager for years, and Megan works in our warehouse. Audrey and Matt Mueller married in November. Audrey is our Head Merchandiser. Lastly, April and Jason Daum also married in November. April is our Shoe Department Manager. We can’t wait to see who will be next!
We have also had some baby eaglets added to the bunch! David Benton, our Operations Manager, and his wife Casey welcomed another little boy, Wyatt, into their family. Then, in the fall, Aubrey Boatwright and her husband, David, welcomed their daughter Alice. Aubrey works in our Women’s Department. Not long after, Emily Metcalf, our Mezzanine Manager and her husband Zac, our Backstock Manger, also welcomed Lilly Kate into the world. Alice and Lily Kate were born just two weeks apart! We love each of these sweet babies.
Coming in 2021…
Susan Anderson, our owner and CFO has been elected to the Alabama Retail Association’s board of directors!!! She will begin her two-year term on January 1.
